About the President: Denise Griben

Denise Griben worked for 20 years as a Medical Technologist specializing in chemistry. After preparing food for several family special occasions, she found an outlet for her love of cooking. With a business partner, they opened Ciao Time Catering in 1997 in the basement of her Hopkinton home. The catering business grew but then her partner left to have a baby so Denise decided to keep the business going.

In addition to catering events, she started a "Dinners To Go" program where she cooked and delivered meals to her client's homes. As a working mother, she knew there was a need for good, homemade food for busy families.

In 2007, she expanded the business to its current location at 28 Main Street, Hopkinton. The large kitchen and prep areas were perfect for the growing catering business and the restaurant allowed people to come in and sample delicious, homemade food for lunch, dinner as well as for catered events.

Denise's goal is to share many of the comfort foods she enjoyed while growing up with today's modern families on a daily basis. Her vision is for the restaurant to be a family friendly environment for busy people to relax in a warm, sunny dining room and enjoy a good, hearty meal that they would have cooked if they had the time.

The tag line for Ciao Time Catering is "We make all the food you love, but don't have time to cook" drives her to please every customer and keeps her going every day.
